The lyrics of the song are based on a poem by Jane Taylor called “The Star” which appeared in 1806 in a volume published by the same author and her sister Ann Taylor “Rhymes for the Nursery”. I think the illustrations are very detailed and realistic, which adds to the connection between the story and the audience. Review: I love how this book takes a children’s song and transforms it into an elaborate, exciting story that children can relate to. The children were up so late to welcome Santa that they became exhausted, however, they continued to stay up until morning came.Ĥ. As it becomes later in the night, Santa is led to the children’s house by the shining star in the sky.
